| FILIP SALAQUARDA GETTING SOME POINTS IN A COMEBACK WEEKEND AT ZOLDER |
20/10/2014 - The racing weekend at Zolder (beer), penultimate round of the Blancpain Sprint Series 2014, saw two comeback races by Filip Salaquarda and his co-equiper Alessandro Balzan.
After the thirteenth place in qualifying, the Czech driver has run the second stint of the Qualifying Race, occasion in which he defended the ninth position without making mistakes all the way to the flag.
Salaquarda confirmed a very good performance level also in the first stint of the Main Race, that was eventually ended by Balzan with a seventh absolute place which earned the lineup six points for the classification.
Filip Salaquarda:
"Zolder is not the most favourable track for the Ferrari 458 and, in fact, we have been forced to use only five of the six gears available. The circuit does offer very limited overtaking chances, therefore it has not been an easy feat to end the Main Race into the points, which overall is a good result".
The Blancpain Sprint Series will be back on track next 2 November in Baku (Azerbaijan) for the final round of the season. |
