26/07/2015 - The weekend at the circuit of Algarve in Portimao (PT), third last round of the Blancpain Sprint Series 2015, highlighted the growth of I.S.R. Racing in terms of performance, even though some episodes prevented the Czech squad to get a strong result in the races.

Marco Bonanomi (ITA) and Filip Salaquarda (CZ) found a good feeling with the number 75 Audi R8 LMS ultra since free practice and this allowed them to improve their times lap after lap and to concretize this crescendo by reaching Q3 with a great1'44.586, that was only four tenths shy of P3. The lineup managed to get the fourth row of the grid with P7 in the final part of qualifying, which was one of the strongest qualifying since the beginning of the season.

A spin in the first stint of the Qualifying Race run on Saturday made Bonanomi lose some precious time forcing him to push hard in the following laps. Salaquarda completed the partial recover during the second stint ending with the ninth place at the flag.

Sunday's Main Race was spoiled by the deployment of the safety car, that forced a lot of teams to change their strategies and to pit during the neutralization period. The heat in the pits ended up penalizing I.S.R.'s lineup. Salaquarda had to wait for his spot to get free, as it was partially blocked by other cars, before being clear to start the driver swap procedure. The time lost in the pits unavoidably took its toll on the final result and the number 75 Audi R8 LMS ultra ended eleventh in the final classification.

Igor Salaquarda (I.S.R. racing, Team Principal):
"It is a real shame that two unlucky episodes decided the result of both our races. The car was competitive and after the promising result of qualifying we were expecting something more. We are now completely focused on the next rounds: we have seen a performance gain and we will try to get the most of it in the final part of the season".

The Blancpain Sprint Series will resume from the Misano World Circuit from 2 to 4 October.
