I.S.R. RACING ENDING THE SEASON WITH A STUNNING COMEBACK RACE IN BARCELONA
01.10.2017 - I.S.R. racing claimed an eighth place that is worth a victory at the circuit of Barcelona during the closing round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup 2017. A particularly exciting race allowed the Czech outfit's drivers line-up to recover a stunning thirty places.

The Audi R8 LMS n.75 took part in the Grand Finale at Montmelň showing off a brand new livery and a slightly changed drivers line-up. Kevin Ceccon (ITA), at the debut with I.S.R. racing in Endurance Cup, Filip Salaquarda (CZ) and Frank Stippler (GER) shared, in fact, driving duties on this occasion.

The weekend has seen I.S.R. racing drivers shining since free practice when they claimed the ninth place in the first session ending just 0.6s shy of the top. Rain has then spoiled Pre-Qualifying on Friday and Qualifying on Saturday. After a thunderstorm early in the morning, drivers had to fight for the pole position on a very tricky, humid and washed circuit that has caught off several drivers. I.S.R. racing's drivers could not get the most of their performance, due to a set of tyres that did not deliver as expected, and ended the with the 38th place in 1'48.366s.

The race has been run under a cloudy sky but on dry tarmac and has been quite exciting. Stippler drove the starting stint recovering several positions with perfect moves in the meleč of the mid-pack. After the pit stop, Ceccon kept the momentum and his cool, showing a great feeling with the car that allowed him to keep constantly the race pace of the front-runners. In the closing stint, Salaquarda completed a sensational performance that - with a stunning thirty places recovered, allowed I.S.R. racing to end a very exciting race in the eighth position.

Igor Salaquarda (I.S.R. racing, Team Principal):
"We are obviously happy with how things went today. After a troubled qualifying, that we are still investigating, a top ten finish seemed to be impossible, but Kevin, Filip and Frank put in a stunning race with the support of the whole team that allowed them to unleash all the speed in the car. This result rewards the hard work done during the whole season. Some episodes played against us this year and I believe we would have deserved something more, but now we enjoy the moment. We will start thinking about the programs for next season and I.S.R. racing's future in the next few days".
